Ferol-Jeanne has always enjoyed interacting with children, and she gets a genuine sense of satisfaction from being able to help them get to school safely and on time as a CareDriver. She has completed a total of 295 trips in the Bay Area since August of 2019.

**What made you decide to become a CareDriver?**

I was looking for a schedule I could choose myself. I enjoy children, and the idea of making sure kids get to school was very appealing.

**What do you like most about being a CareDriver?**

The children and the idea of helping them. I love seeing their eyes light up when they see I’m driving them. It makes my day!

**Tell us about your caregiving experience.**

I worked in a children’s hospital, and I babysat for many years starting when I was 12 years old. I love the way children’s minds work.

**What would you say is the most important thing you gain from being a CareDriver?**

Being a CareDriver brings me great joy. I enjoy driving these little humans, and getting to know them. I like to kid around with them and listen to how their day went.

**Has there been anything surprising about the experiences you’ve had with your Riders?**

The things the children come up with and their conversations seem so grown up!

**What advice would you give to someone who is thinking about becoming a CareDriver?**

New drivers need to really enjoy driving and children. Remember, you have very important cargo in your car and their parents/caregivers put their faith in you. Always be on time and show up because they expect you to get their children to school on time. And be sure to smile! 😃

**What do you tell other people about HopSkipDrive?**

I tell them how happy the children make me, and about the responsibility I have while they are with me. I also tell them how easy the scheduling is.

**Do you have any advice you think would be useful for other CareDrivers?**

Wear your orange shirt, smile and enjoy yourself!

**How important do you think HopSkipDrive is and why?**

Many children need assistance getting to school. Sometimes their family works or they have no car. All children have the right to go to school. If I can help with that, then my day is complete.
