Hello, Metroplex! HopSkipDrive is proud to announce that CareDrivers are out on the road serving Dallas-Fort Worth area families and schools.

As the first transportation network purpose-built for kids, and with millions of safe miles traveled from coast to coast, HopSkipDrive comes to DFW with a track record that families and schools can trust. Our innovative safety measures include deep driver vetting, unmatched parental visibility, and a dedicated Safe Ride Support team who monitors every ride in real time.

Whether you’re a busy parent who just needs one ride a week to make things work or a school district administrator with semester-long series of trips to arrange, HopSkipDrive couples simple logistics with cutting-edge safety systems and peace of mind.

The Dallas-Fort Worth launch will include North Dallas, East Dallas, and North Fort Worth, with plans to quickly expand throughout the metro area.

Why Dallas-Fort Worth?

According to research, Dallasites spent an average of 76 minutes a day in traffic congestion in 2018. Increased traffic on the roadways means greater difficulty for parents when trying to transport their children to and from school, while also being at work on time every day.

“DFW is a young, vibrant city that continues to attract busy, working parents. With more people flocking to DFW than any other metropolitan area in the country, the Metroplex is in need of more dependable and flexible transportation solutions for families,” says HopSkipDrive Co-Founder and CEO, Joanna McFarland. “We’re excited to give parents peace of mind and provide families with safe, reliable rides throughout the region.”

Grapevine, Texas, resident Shelley Hunter had this to say about her kids using HopSkipDrive, which has enabled them to remain in their school of origin during a time of instability:

“The DFW area isn’t like New York or Philly — there isn’t a train at your door. In some cities here, you can’t even cross to another city by transit. If we’d changed schools every time our housing situation changed and they had no bus route near them, my kids would have switched four or five times in a year. That would have blown up their education.”

In addition to providing relief for busy parents and families, HopSkipDrive also helps schools and districts overcome student transportation challenges for those not easily routed on buses, including school of origin transportation for homeless students and youth in foster care. DFW is home to 112 school districts that serve over 1.3 million students, and many of these students will find themselves without reliable transportation to and from school, putting kids at risk of chronic absenteeism.

Keller Independent School District in Tarrant County is among the districts already working with HopSkipDrive.

“Keller Independent School District is excited to partner with HopSkipDrive. Not only will this help to reduce the district’s overall transportation costs, but offering this service to students with specialized transportation needs will help to shorten commute times — meaning less time in transit and more time learning.”

CareDriver Natalie Guzman told the Dallas Morning News what she loves about being a CareDriver. “I have flexibility and I like that … you can choose to align yourself with businesses that satisfy a personal purpose,” Guzman said. “[HopSkipDrive] matched a story I enjoyed, which is being able to serve people I was once.”
