92% of Caregivers Are Satisfied. The Reason? Total Visibility Into Every Ride.
A survey score can tell you whether families are satisfied. What it can’t tell you is why. For the 2025–2026 school year, we went further than the headline numbers, asking caregivers to describe, in their own words, what a reliable ride actually changes in their day.
More than 9 in 10 caregivers reported being satisfied or very satisfied with their HopSkipDrive experience, an all-time high and up from last year. Our first look at this year’s survey results covered the headline numbers: a 92% recommendation rate, less daily stress for families, and what it means for districts when caregivers already trust the ride. This post goes into what’s actually driving that satisfaction.
Visibility Changes Everything
When caregivers describe what makes HopSkipDrive feel different, they keep coming back to one thing: they can see what’s happening. The HopSkipDrive app gives caregivers a direct line into every ride, from monitoring the trip in real time to contacting their CareDriver directly if needed. For kids, Track My Ride takes that visibility a step further, putting the tracking experience in their hands too. It earned strong marks across every measure we looked at:
More than 4.5 out of 5 caregivers attest that Track My Ride gives them peace of mind through real-time visibility into their rider’s trip
84% of caregivers whose riders have used it said they found it helpful and use it regularly
65% reported that their rider became more comfortable managing rides independently
HopSkipDrive makes it possible for riders to get to school. Now, with Track My Ride, riders with smart devices are doing it more independently too. As one caregiver put it: “It gives my children responsibility, they track the ride so they are ready when the driver arrives.” For districts, a student who manages their own pickup is a student who arrives more settled. That’s a small thing that adds up.
The Families Behind the Numbers
Caregivers describe HopSkipDrive in strikingly consistent terms. When asked to choose the words that fit best, three rose to the top: convenient, safe, and caring. Riders ranked nearly the same list, with safety coming first. Those same words show up in the way families talk about what HopSkipDrive has changed for them.
Those words appear in the stories caregivers shared. Caregiver Linda B. from Phoenix told us a commute that had consumed four hours and 122 miles every day was simply gone thanks to HopSkipDrive facilitating their rider’s transportation. Caregiver Krystal R. from Seattle said that across three types of school transportation her kids use, HopSkipDrive is the only one that hasn’t caused problems or made them miss school.
The numbers back them up. Caregivers feel less stressed, more confident, and more at ease knowing their rider is taken care of.
80% of caregivers said HopSkipDrive has made transportation easier for their rider
70% said it has reduced their stress by providing reliable rides
46% feel more comfortable knowing their rider is in good hands
Much of that confidence comes from what caregivers can do in the app. Before a ride starts, they can review their CareDriver’s bio. Once the ride is underway, Track My Ride lets both caregivers and riders follow the trip in real time. If plans change, they can cancel or adjust rides directly where their school allows. Caregivers can also reach chat support any time for quick questions, with Safe Ride Support® reachable directly for anything more urgent. For caregivers at work or away from home, that level of visibility makes it easier to stay in the loop, with everything they need already at hand.
For families managing complex schedules, medical needs, or housing instability, reliable transportation is essential. When that reliability disappears, the effects last. Our 2024 caregiver research found that families who left HopSkipDrive reported longer commutes, earlier wake times, and more missed school days, the kind of disruption that shows up in attendance records long after the decision is made.
“. . . [CareDrivers] were engaging, respectful, and good drivers that I felt I could trust my student with. My student would come home and tell me about her favorite drivers. I liked the fact I could watch her drive safely and had all the information I needed at my fingertips.”

What We Do for Caregivers, Riders, and Safety
We know that for many riders, consistency is everything. A familiar face, a predictable routine, a CareDriver who already knows them: these things matter. That’s why HopSkipDrive works to pair riders with CareDrivers who know their needs and show up ready.
Visibility and transparency matter too, and we build both into every ride. Caregivers get real-time access through the app, where they can review CareDriver bios, manage rides, and stay connected from anywhere. Riders get Track My Ride, a feature built for them, so they can follow their own trip and arrive ready. Starting this fall, every ride will also include free ride recording, making an already safe experience even safer for riders, caregivers, and CareDrivers alike.
Safety is built into the foundation. CareDrivers, often described as caregivers on wheels, go through a 15-point certification process before they ever pick up a rider, including background checks, driving record reviews, and in-person screening. CareDrivers are also equipped to support neurodivergent riders, with guidance on communication styles and routines that help those riders feel comfortable. Beyond the CareDriver certification process, HopSkipDrive’s industry-leading approach to safety includes Safe Ride Technology™ and over 50 safety products and features woven throughout the ride experience, from real-time ride tracking and driving behavior monitoring to automated incident prediction and real-time collision detection that alerts the Safe Ride Support team to potential issues. For riders who need it, our Must Be Met protocols ensure every handoff happens with an authorized, verified adult, whether that means a CareDriver waits in the car, walks the student to the door, or walks them inside. Our Great Start team is there to support CareDrivers and families from day one.
We also know riders have different needs, and we take that seriously. HopSkipDrive facilitates rides in vehicles equipped for car seats and wheelchair accessibility, because getting the ride right means getting the details right too.
Why This Matters for Districts
A transportation partner that surveys its caregiver community and shares what it hears is a different kind of partner. Districts get a clear picture of whether the solution is working. The feedback loop is meaningful.
Caregiver priorities map directly to what drives calls to district offices. A family that reaches support quickly stays off the district’s phone lines. A rider whose needs were communicated to the CareDriver upfront arrives settled. A caregiver with a consistent CareDriver trusts the system.
HopSkipDrive’s product roadmap is built around exactly these needs, making the experience more accessible for the families districts serve every day.
