HopSkipDrive Senior Strategic Advisor Mike Martin named to NAPT Hall of Fame

Mike MartinHopSkipDrive’s Senior Strategic Advisor, Mike Martin, was inducted into the National Association for Pupil Transportation’s (NAPT) Hall of Fame during the Association’s annual meeting in Columbus, Ohio, on October 30th.

The NAPT Hall of Fame was created to recognize and honor NAPT members and other
individuals who have made “outstanding, unique, lasting and extraordinary contributions to the Association or the school transportation industry.” Members of the NAPT Hall of Fame are considered to be among the industry’s most prominent and impactful leaders.

Induction into the NAPT Hall of Fame represents the highest honor that NAPT can bestow on an individual. Honorees must meet the highest standards of personal and professional integrity, including distinguished service to both the industry and the Association. Nominees are evaluated based on their personal contributions to NAPT and the student transportation industry; their achievements in communication, leadership, education, advocacy or research; the influence they’ve had on NAPT and/or the pupil transportation industry; and the potential long-term impact of their contributions.

Mike spent more than 25 years as Executive Director/CEO of NAPT, overseeing all facets of the Association’s management and operations. Creative problem solving and collaboration were hallmarks of his time at NAPT, where he initiated partnerships between public and private school transportation stakeholders, and advocated for the professional advancement of school transportation personnel. Prior to his time at NAPT, Mike held leadership positions in the realms of public affairs, policy, government relations and business management.

“To the NAPT Board, the Hall of Fame Screening Committee and whoever nominated me for this award, I thank you for finding my work worthy of this recognition,” said Mike in response to being named to the Hall of Fame. “I am grateful and proud to be receiving this honor.”

Through his current work with HopSkipDrive, Mike remains dedicated to supporting student transportation — and is especially proud to be part of a forward-thinking company that is taking a different approach to arranging safe, reliable transportation that meets the needs of all students.

“I’m so glad to have such an incredible opportunity to help children that are experiencing homelessness, children who are in foster care, and children that have disabilities or other individualized education needs,” he says. “I get up every day excited about the work we’re doing, and I’m proud to be part of the HopSkipDrive team.”
