Here’s how HopSkipDrive works:

1. Download the app: Families download the HopSkipDrive app (available on iOS and Android) and use the easy-to-navigate interface to arrange transportation for children or anyone needing extra care this summer. New users can use code SUMMER2026* for $15 off a first ride.

2. Advance scheduling: Rides can typically be scheduled in advance. The platform connects caregivers with a network of highly qualified CareDrivers — local parents, nurses, former teachers, babysitters and more — to ensure summer schedules stay on track.

3. Real-Time Confirmation: Once a ride is booked, HopSkipDrive sends a text to the parent or caregiver with complete ride details. This information is also available instantly within the app for easy reference.

4. Multifactor Verification: Before a ride begins, riders and CareDrivers verify each other using a unique system of names and a secret code word. CareDrivers provide the code word upon arrival, and the rider confirms their identity by providing their birthday before entering the vehicle.

5. Live Visibility & Track My Ride: Caregivers can track every journey in real-time via the HopSkipDrive app. For students with their own mobile device or smartwatch, our Track My Ride feature provides the same peace of mind with no app download needed. When a student’s phone number is added to their profile, they receive an automated SMS with the CareDriver’s ETA and a secure tracking link, which allows the student to see the location of their driver. 

6. Dedicated Support: Parents receive text updates when a CareDriver is en route, arrives, and reaches the destination. If a caregiver needs to reach the CareDriver at any time, they can do so through the app using masked phone numbers to protect personal privacy.
