How It Works
Download the HopSkipDrive app to track rides in real time!
The organization responsible for your child's transportation will schedule a trip for your Rider. The HopSkipDrive Platform connects them with a network of highly qualified CareDrivers. We guarantee every ride for our education and county partners.
You’ll receive a text from HopSkipDrive with ride information and a link to download the mobile app so you can track rides in real-time. Can’t download the app? No problem! We’ll send status updates to you via text.
Ensure your Rider knows the code word we sent you via text. Upon pickup, CareDrivers will provide the Rider's name and code word to verify they are the correct driver. They will also ask your Rider for their birthday.
Your Rider should be ready to go before the pickup time. Be sure to keep an eye out for the orange HopSkipDrive decal.
We'll let you know when the CareDriver is on their way, when they arrive, when they depart, and when they safely reach the destination via live ride text message updates. You can track the ride in real-time inside the HopSkipDrive or communicate directly with CareDrivers through the app. In addition, you can cancel your child's ride directly within your app!

Adjusting Time or Address
Reach out to your organization to confirm if you are able to edit a ride, or if ride adjustments need to be made by your organization.
Cancel rides directly from your mobile app! Please do so at least 8 hours in advance of the ride to avoid extra fees for the ride organizer.
Tips for a Successful Ride
Your child should be ready to go at least 10 minutes before the scheduled pickup time.
Be sure to answer any calls from HopSkipDrive Support (844-467-7547) or the CareDriver as needed.
Confirm the verification process with your Rider and make sure they know the code word the CareDriver will provide to them.
The orange HopSkipDrive decal in the car windshield will help identify the CareDriver upon arrival.
HopSkipDrive Community Guidelines were developed with CareDrivers and Riders in mind and help ensure a safe, smart and respectful in-ride experience. All HopSkipDrive Users are expected to follow these guidelines when accessing or using the HopSkipDrive Platform.
COVID-Safe Ride Standards
Consistent with CDC guidelines for public transport, masks are now optional except in areas where they are required by local law. We continue to encourage CareDrivers to make safe decisions for themselves and others in the car.
In-app reminders and confirmations promote the health and safety of our community.
