Consistency
Structured Rider Notes capturing each student’s communication style, sensory needs, and safety protocols are applied automatically to every ride, so CareDrivers always follow the same support steps. Two-factor verification confirms the right student at pickup, and riders arrive at school relaxed and ready to learn.
Caregivers on Wheels
CareDrivers are “caregivers on wheels” who have an average of 15 years of caregiving experience and complete a 15-point certification with fingerprint-based background checks and continuous monitoring. We video screen every CareDriver to assess empathy and judgment. CarePartner™ drivers also bring specialized non-emergency medical transport experience for higher-need riders.
Real-Time Ride Tracking
Our Safe Ride Technology™ tracks every ride in real time, giving you, your school staff, and parents or caregivers the same end-to-end visibility — eliminating the daily “Where’s the ride?” calls to your office.
Safety
We’re setting a new standard for safety and transparency. Two-factor verification confirms the right student and driver, Must Be Met protocols ensure handoff only to an authorized adult, and real-time tracking keeps every ride visible — and everyone in the loop.
Flexibility
Ride requests can be filled with six hours’ notice and location changes can be made within two hours of a ride’s start time, so students with disabilities can count on a ride to the appointments they need.

You’ll never wait days or weeks to reroute a bus or find a local provider. We can confirm rides in minutes through our nimble CareDriver network, so students with IEPs can get to school when plans change.

Parents and caregivers of students with disabilities or IEPs have direct access to a dedicated line (213) 737-9600 to speak with the HopSkipDrive team, enabling a customized ride experience tailored to their student’s unique needs.
Consistent CareDriver Program
More than 80% of rides for students with disabilities are completed by a CareDriver the rider has met before. The Consistent CareDriver Program builds on this by designating a dedicated Lead CareDriver and a backup driver the student is familiar with.
Rider Assistants
For students who need an additional adult in the vehicle, certified Rider Assistants ride along and provide support. Rider Assistants meet our high safety standards, and can be booked with six hours’ notice.
Wheelchair-Accessible Vehicle (WAV) Rides
HopSkipDrive is partnering with CarePartners — non-emergency medical transport companies — to safely and reliably provide transportation for your rider in a wheelchair-accessible vehicle (WAV).
