Meet Client Support Specialist Juan Carlos Armenta

Juan Carlos Armenta started his journey with HopSkipDrive behind the wheel — as a CareDriver. After experiencing the impact of the company’s mission firsthand, he was eager to expand his contributions to HopSkipDrive as a member of the client support team.
Where are you located and how long have you worked for HopSkipDrive?
I am currently working out of the San Diego, California, area. I have been with HopSkipDrive for almost two years.
What exactly do you do for the company as a Client Support Specialist?
I provide our clients/customers with omni-channel support via phone, text, chat and email. Since safety is “always on” here at HopSkipDrive, I focus much of my time on recognizing and resolving problems before they arise. Same thing applies with any trends in issues and complaints that come across my desk.
How did you hear about HopSkipDrive, and what made you want to work here?
I was actually a CareDriver while I was living in Los Angeles. I became very interested in working directly at the company, mostly because of the great interactions I had with the staff and what HopSkipDrive is all about.
Since I already had some background with the role I am in, I knew there were many attributes I could bring to the team to help with HopSkipDrive’s mission. I am so grateful I became part of it!
What do clients say about the work that HopSkipDrive does?
Clients provide great feedback on the service, especially now given how the student transportation situation is going.
One of the most memorable stories was about a caregiver who had recently moved, and her new address was out of the school bus service area for the child’s particular district. Along came HopSkipDrive, and we saved the day by filling in the gap for her kiddo. She was sooooo happy and relieved!
What is your favorite thing about working at HopSkipDrive?
Definitely the dynamics of an ever-changing environment. I appreciate how the company leadership contributes so much to ensure positive change and growth can happen. I also enjoy working with great people who are working for a great cause!
What do you like to do in your free time?
I love spending time with my family and our dog, Astro. We do all sorts of things together but most of all, we love the outdoors and try to spend as much time outside as we can. There are usually plenty of school activities in the mix as well.
